The Greth Story
In 1972 a young man by the name of Walter Greth took the first step to start a career, which later evolved into a business beyond his imagination. Walter’s first construction project involved helping his teacher and mentor from the Reading/Muhlenberg Vo-Tech, in building a home. After graduating high school in 1973, Walter went on his own and built the first residential home that is more commonly known today, as a Greth Home.
Throughout the years Walter grew more knowledgeable of many trade aspects of construction. Having been involved with so many different areas of the building industry would later prove to be a great advantage for his company.
In 1981 Walter registered his business under the name of Greth Construction Inc. About five years later, he began to expand his business interests by purchasing parcels of land. These parcels gave Walter the opportunity to showcase the various styles of homes his company was capable of building, as well as offer customers a community where they could build their dream home.
Thirty seven years later and Walter is still building on those experiences.
